Experimental Form • Antler
The goal of this project was to take a natural artifact and choose to highlight or de-emphasize its characteristics. I chose and antler and decided to highlight its natural curves and angles by making them more extreme. The process of this was studying the antler as is, then choosing how sculpting and sanding could effect one's interaction and understanding of the piece. Once the antler was sculpted and primed I played with color blocking and texture to further push the antler from organic and natural to something that feels produced and manufactured.
